History of the College of Law
Irvine University College of Law was originally established in the early 1970’s by local prominent attorneys in the City of Irvine. Egon Mittelmann, Esq. was the founding Dean of the College of Law. Following several proprietary changes and institutional moves, it settled at the current campus in Cerritos. Since its founding over 40 years ago, it has provided quality education at affordable tuition for working adult students seeking to obtain a legal education within a four-year law program leading to an academic JD degree with qualification to sit for the California Bar Examination. The College of Law is registered with the California State Bar Committee of Bar Examiners and complies with its rules and guidelines. It has teaching locations in the Cities of Irvine and Cerritos. Its alumni include a number of Superior Court Judges, Governmental agency attorneys, Civic leaders, business executives and prominent private attorneys. Most alumni are located in California.
